At Augusta Premier Kickball, we believe sports are about more than wins and losses.

They’re about the people.

That’s why our championship event each season is known as the Jake Smith Championship Night.

Our vision is to create a championship experience that truly puts an exclamation point on the season. More than just a final game, Championship Night is designed to be a celebration of the players, teams, sponsors, and community that make the league special.

Each season, the league’s top teams will compete under the lights while players and spectators enjoy sponsor activations, local vendor booths, food, music, giveaways, and an atmosphere that feels bigger than a typical recreational league championship. Prize money will be awarded to the top three finishing teams, and our goal is to create an event that players look forward to all season long.

Because at Augusta Premier Kickball, we believe recreational sports deserve championship moments too.

To know Jake truly was to love him.

Jake Smith was a beloved member of the Augusta kickball community and a former player for Wasted Potential. Known for his infectious personality, loyalty, humor, and ability to make friends wherever he went, Jake left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

In 2024, Jake passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind countless friends, teammates, and family members who loved him dearly. His loss was deeply felt throughout the community.

As a tribute to his legacy, Augusta Premier Kickball dedicates each championship night to Jake’s memory.

His kickball number, 42, has become a symbol of friendship, community, and the spirit that makes recreational sports so meaningful. The Jake Smith Championship Night serves as a reminder that while championships are earned on the field, the relationships we build along the way are what matter most.

Every season, as teams compete for the league title, we also celebrate the values Jake embodied: friendship, laughter, sportsmanship, and living life to the fullest.

His legacy continues to be part of every season, every game, and every Thursday night under the lights.
