Have a question? You’re probably not the first person to ask it.
Whether you’re registering as a free agent, creating a team, or simply curious about how the league works, you’ll find answers to our most commonly asked questions below.
Augusta Premier Kickball is a recreational adult coed kickball league serving Augusta, Evans, Grovetown, North Augusta, Aiken, Fort Eisenhower/Fort Gordon, and the surrounding CSRA.
Our league was built by players, for players and focuses on creating a fun, organized, community-driven experience for young professionals, active adults, and anyone looking to stay active and meet new people.
We’re focused exclusively on kickball.
That means more attention to the player experience, better communication, greater transparency, organized scheduling, community events, and opportunities for Team Captains and players to help shape the league.
Our goal is simple: create the best kickball experience in Augusta.
Games are played on Thursday evenings.
Game times may vary based on the number of registered teams, but most games are scheduled between at either 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:30 PM. In rare cases, teams may play a 9:30 PM game, but only due to league capacity and lack of field space.
Field locations will be announced prior to each season and will be listed on the league website and season schedule. But, more often than not, games will be played at Eisenhower Park in Augusta, GA.
Each season includes a nine-week regular season followed by a potential playoff game and the Jake Smith Championship Night.
Most games last approximately 50 minutes.
No. Players can register as either:
We’ll help free agents find a team before the season begins.
No problem. Register as a free agent and you’ll be added to our Free Agent Pool.
Captains can review free agent profiles and select players during the Free Agent Mixer & Draft Night.
Absolutely.
If you and a friend register as free agents, simply let us know via the Registration Form comment section and we’ll do our best to place you on the same team.
Registration deadlines vary by season.
We recommend registering as early as possible since team spots and free agent placements may become limited as the season approaches. Similar leagues often close registration shortly before the season starts or when leagues reach capacity.
Players must be at least 21 years old unless otherwise approved by league management.
A full roster typically consists of 12 or more players.
Additional roster spots may be added during registration if needed.
You may also purchase Roster Protection, which allows for the use of unlimited subs throughout the season to fill in the gaps when needed.
Yes. Teams may add players prior to roster deadlines established each season. However, players cannot be added mid season unless a sub is being converted into an available roster spot or a rostered player gets injured and a replacement player is needed.
Absolutely.
Teams are welcome to create their own jerseys or work with our official apparel partner, Mod Ink, to create custom shirts, performance jerseys, names, numbers, and logos.
While not required, matching shirts are strongly encouraged and help create a better game-day experience.
The Free Agent Mixer and Draft Night is a pre-season event where captains and free agents have an opportunity to meet before teams are finalized.
Captains can review player profiles and fill open roster spots through a draft-style process.
Yes. Free agents will be assigned to teams prior to the season so everyone has time to connect with teammates before the first game.
No worries! Many of our players join with little or no kickball experience. Kickball is easy to learn, and our teams welcome players of all skill levels.
You’ll fit right in. While some players have backgrounds in baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball, or other sports, many players simply join to have fun, meet people, and stay active.
Player safety comes first.
Weather-related updates will be communicated through league communication channels (which is typically via Facebook, Instagram, and a text to Team Captains) as quickly as possible.
Make-up games may be scheduled when necessary.
If a situation cannot be resolved on the field, the issue may be reviewed by the Augusta Premier Kickball Captain’s Council.
Rather than a single league official making the decision, Team Captains have the opportunity to review and vote on certain disputes or league matters.
The official rulebook is available online here at any time.
Registered team captains will also receive a printed copy before the season begins.
Jake Smith Championship Night serves as the culmination of every season.
The event celebrates league champions, recognizes award winners, honors the memory of former player Jake Smith, and brings the entire kickball community together for one final night under the lights.
Yes. Prize money is awarded to the top finishing teams, and individual player awards are presented during Championship Night.
Team captains submit nominations throughout the season.
Captains then vote on award recipients before Championship Night.
Absolutely. Augusta Premier Kickball offers multiple sponsorship opportunities ranging from community sponsorships to league-wide partnerships and event sponsorships.
Whenever possible, yes. We limit sponsorships within certain industries to maximize value for our partners.
