Eight teams. 96 players. One brand-new league. Augusta Premier Kickball officially takes the field Thursday, September 3, at Eisenhower Park for the beginning of our inaugural Fall 2026 season.

Oh. Em. Gee. Opening Night is almost here.

Just a few months ago, Augusta Premier Kickball was an idea: What if we could build the kind of adult recreational sports league we would want to play in?

We set an initial goal of finding six teams willing to take a chance on something new. Instead, we’re heading into Opening Night with a FULL league.

• 8 teams.
• 96+ players.
• 16 Free Agents, including three drafted onto existing teams.
• One inaugural season.

What started in May as a hope to build something better has turned into an entire, fully legal, fully formed 501(c)(7) nonprofit sports league with a Board of Directors, eight teams, and 96+ players behind it.

We genuinely couldn’t have imagined this kind of support for our first season.

To every Captain who took a chance on something new, every player who registered, every Free Agent who showed up ready to find a team, every sponsor who helped fund a startup, and every person who supported us along the way: Thank you.

Now there’s only one thing left to do. Let’s play kickball.

Opening Night: September 3 at Eisenhower Park

Augusta Premier Kickball’s inaugural season officially begins Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Eisenhower Park (Field 3).

Four games will take place throughout the evening as all eight inaugural teams take the field:

• 6:30 PM — Puke ‘N Rally vs. Pura Vida Kickers
• 7:30 PM — Wasted Potential vs. BOFA
• 8:30 PM — Kicktease vs. Toejammers
• 9:30 PM — The Comeback Kids vs. The Replacements

Because our games are only 50 minutes, players should arrive at least 20 minutes before their scheduled game to give them plenty of time to get checked in and warm up.

The general public is also welcome to attend. So if you’re curious about Augusta Premier Kickball, know somebody playing, or just want to watch some kickball on a Thursday night, grab a chair and come join us.

Admission is free.

What Players Should Expect on Opening Night

When you arrive at Eisenhower Park, look for the black Augusta Premier Kickball tent and league signage.

Before taking the field, players will:

• Check in with the league
• Complete any outstanding registration or waiver requirements
• Settle any outstanding balances
• Pick up their inaugural-season league swag

Every registered player will receive an Augusta Premier Kickball league T-shirt, printed rule book, koozie, and sticker.

Team Captains will also receive an official team kickball and lineup cards for the season.

Once you’re checked in, find your team, warm up, and get ready.

Your Team Headquarters

One of our goals when building Augusta Premier Kickball was to make it easier for players to find the information they need.

That’s why every APK team has its own Team Headquarters.

Think of it as your team’s home base throughout the season. From your Team Headquarters, players can access their:

• Upcoming games
• Full team schedule
• Team roster
• Results
• League standings
• League resources
• Rules and important links
• Team-specific information

Some teams may also use their headquarters for team chats, social links, sponsors, photos, team history, and other resources.

If you’re ever wondering, “When do we play?” or “Where do I find that?” your Team Headquarters is a pretty good place to start.

Players can find game information in several places throughout the APK website.

The main Schedule page displays games from across the league, while individual Team Headquarters pages show each team’s upcoming games and complete season schedule.

Players can also subscribe to the official Augusta Premier Kickball Google Calendar for league games, events, important dates, and other updates. One calendar. Always up to date.

Game Night 101

Augusta Premier Kickball games are scheduled for 50 minutes with a maximum of seven innings, which means staying on schedule is important.

Players should arrive at least 20 minutes early and be ready to play at their scheduled game time.

Every Wednesday, players will also receive a Game Day email with their Thursday matchup and any important information for that week’s games.

Teams are expected to determine their player availability well in advance of game night.

If a team cannot field the minimum number of players required under league rules, the Captain should notify the league no later than 3:00 PM on game day.

Early communication helps prevent opposing players from unnecessarily traveling to the fields and keeps the evening running smoothly for everyone.

Meet Your Umpires

Our primary umpires for the Fall 2026 season will be Darren and Josh, who will be easy to identify in their APK shirts.

Before each game, teams will check in with the umpire, confirm participating players, and receive any game-specific or rules-related information.

Our officials are responsible for managing the game and making on-field calls. Players don’t have to agree with every call. That’s sports. But everyone is expected to treat our umpires, opponents, teammates, and spectators with respect.

A Few APK Rules You Should Know

Augusta Premier Kickball has several rules that may differ from other adult kickball leagues, so all players are strongly encouraged to review the complete league rules before taking the field.

A few important highlights include:

• No traditional Infield Fly Rule. Intentional drops may still be called at the umpire’s discretion.
• Female players may pitch the entire game, while male pitchers may not pitch consecutive innings.
• No metal cleats.
• Women may play anywhere defensively. There is no minimum number of female players specifically required in the outfield as long as the required number of women are on the field.
• Male players may not bunt.
• Defensive players may not rush female kickers and must comply with the league’s attack-line rules.
• APK uses a designated kicking box rather than traditional batter’s boxes.
• Catchers must remain behind the kicker within the designated catcher area until the ball is kicked.
• Pitchers must maintain the required contact with the pitching rubber when delivering a pitch.
• APK uses a Pitcher’s Possession Rule to determine when advancing runners must stop or return to the appropriate base.
• Games are 50 minutes with a maximum of seven innings, and regular-season games may end in a tie.
• There is a seven-run limit per inning.
• Substitution rules will be strictly enforced throughout the season to maintain fairness across the league.
• Responsible consumption is permitted only where legal and allowed by the facility.

Most importantly:

Play hard. Don’t be a jerk.

We’re adults playing recreational kickball on Thursday nights. There is no professional contract waiting at the end of the season. Competition is encouraged. Sportsmanship isn’t optional. Player safety, unnecessary contact, fighting, threats, reckless play, and other unsportsmanlike conduct will be taken seriously throughout the season.

What Happens When There’s a Problem?

We’re not going into our inaugural season pretending everything will always go perfectly. There will be close calls. There will probably be rules questions. There may be disagreements. What matters is having a fair and transparent process for handling them.

If something happens during a game or there’s an issue affecting a player’s overall league experience, players can contact Jacob Thigpen, Director of Player Experience.

Players may also submit a Game Issue Report when appropriate.

Certain game, rules, sportsmanship, and league issues can be reviewed through Augusta Premier Kickball’s Captain’s Council, which includes representation from teams across the league.

The goal is simple: Give players somewhere to go when something isn’t right—and have an established an unbiased process for addressing it.

There will be no players trucked at home plate and it be considered by a single-source as a “bear hug” here!

Wins Aren’t the Only Thing That Matter

APK standings work a little differently. Rather than ranking teams exclusively by win/loss record or run differential, Augusta Premier Kickball uses a points-based standings system that rewards performance throughout the season.

That means every game matters. And sometimes, every run matters too.

Players can follow the standings throughout the season through their Team Headquarters.

Game night may only happen once a week, but there are plenty of ways to stay connected to APK between Thursdays.

Important announcements, league updates, events, and other information will be published through the News section of AugustaKickball.com and our official social media channels.

Time-sensitive game information may also appear in the announcement banner across the website and will be communicated directly with Team Captains.

APK Google Calendar

Players can subscribe to the official APK Google Calendar to keep games, events, deadlines, and important league dates directly on their phones. Subscribe to Calendar

When league event details are updated, players can have the latest information right at their fingertips.

Kickball Chatter

The games happen Thursday night. The chatter doesn’t have to.

Our Kickball Chatter Facebook group is the unofficial social headquarters of Augusta Premier Kickball.

Players can share photos, celebrate big plays, talk a little friendly trash, find substitutes, post kickball memes, and get to know people from other teams.

Keep it fun. Keep it respectful.

More Than a Championship

Let’s be clear. We absolutely want to know who the best kickball team in Augusta is.

But a great recreational league is about more than the final standings.

Each season, Augusta Premier Kickball will recognize players and teams through league awards celebrating athletic performance, sportsmanship, personality, and the people who make Thursday nights better.

Players and Team Captains can submit nominations throughout the season.

See somebody deserving? Nominate them.

After the Final Out: World of Beer

The scoreboard may turn off, but Thursday night doesn’t have to end there.

World of Beer – Augusta is the official League Bar of Augusta Premier Kickball for Fall 2026.

Following the games, APK players are encouraged to head to World of Beer for our official post-game hangout.

And there’s a little extra incentive to get the W. Each winning team will receive a $15 World of Beer bar credit, and APK players receive 20% off their bill when they mention kickball.

Win or lose, come hang out. Because some of the best parts of a social sports league happen after everyone leaves the field.

This Is Only the Beginning

A few months ago, Augusta Premier Kickball existed as an idea.

On September 3, 96+ players across eight teams will take the field at Eisenhower Park.

There will probably be a few hiccups. Someone will forget a rule. An umpire will make a call somebody doesn’t like. Somebody will kick a ball approximately six feet and somehow reach first base. And we’re all going to learn a few things along the way. It’s our first season.

But that’s exactly what makes this one special.

Years from now, after dozens of seasons and hundreds of teams and players have taken the field with Augusta Premier Kickball, these 96 players and eight teams will always be able to say:

We were there for the first one.

The teams are set. The schedule is live. The field is ready.
